What an airline disaster can teach us?

As of the time this article is written, MH370 is still lost presumably in the Indian Ocean. With international attention on Malaysia, glaring flaws have been highlighted in the way Malaysia operates. Mind you, it is nothing new but intentionally ignored prior. Now that a catastrophe has occurred, our inability to co-ordinate and operate at an international level is evident.

GST in healthcare – Empty promises?

With the implementation of GST in healthcare, the costs will increase. The assurances given by the Minister of Health in minimising the effects on the public, appears to be an empty promise yet again. There is no outline of any concrete plan. In fact, much information is shrouded in secrecy. Even if government hospitals do not see any increase in the actual amount paid by the patient, it is likely that this “loss” will be offset by an increase in taxes or the reduction in subsidies elsewhere.
